SAWTA 1
I'm officially a quarter of the way to becoming a watchmaker!
The SAWTA 1 test results are in, and I've passed. There are 4 must-pass SAWTA exams throughout our program, and the first one focuses on micromechanics.
For this exam, we had to make a 3:1 scale model of the "click" in our 6497, as well as the recess that holds it. Both pieces are tricky to make, and have precise geometries that relate to each other—the width of the pivot post to the hole in the click, the thickness of the click to the depth of the recess, etc.
It was a stressful but engaging project, and I'm glad to have it in the rear-view mirror as we move forward... Towards SAWTA 2!
